Mega Man C - X

Prologue:

Doctor Thomas Light

21st century; year 20XX, Gregorian calendar

The developing of humanoid robots found a fast pace during this time. At first they were very cube and not very agile. However, determined scientists saw much potential in it and of course various companies to cut their costs. However, above all, industrial nations with huge interest in military pushed it forward the most. The speed in the development became very rapid and after the first fully functional models, though still very far from humanlike robots were made. Many new and young scientists popped up like nothing and soon, whole academies determined to it came into existence. Young geniuses named Thomas Light and Albert W. Wily were amongst them and should soon revolt the science of robotics but this is still years in the future.
While those two studied the course of robots took clearly one direction. The governments pushed towards military use, veiled with words like protecting humans in critical areas. Ultimately this had to lead towards warfare and it did. A world spanning all-out war soon started with armies of rather simple and horrendous expensive robot soldiers. Their destructive power turned out to be theoretically even more fearsome than those of a nuclear rocket. Of course government wouldn’t believe or rather refused to believe it can be that destructive. Furthermore, the advantage also was the area they hit wouldn’t become contaminated for dozen of years allowing to early take over the resources. It didn’t take a long time of hesitation to use them. Then, it really turned into a nightmare of war. The countries using them and hit by them suffered not just massive financial losses but also vast destruction, even annihilating and reshaping the earth of some countries.

As unbelievable as it might sound, the world, even very radical countries, companies and organizations realized this is too much for them to take and stopped in time before the end of humanity. But still, the potential this might offer was nothing to overlook. After that the United Nations put heavy restrictions onto the field of robotics, allowing them only to stay in special designed operation bases as long as they are not presently needed.
The direction of robotics then took on a more peaceful path. It was Thomas Light that graduated as doctor alongside Albert W. Wily that were the first ones to create a free thinking set of robots with the first called Proto Man, a collaboration of Dr. Light and his assistance Dr. Wily, although Wily never showed as much skill as Dr. Light. Together they created 6 more free thinking robots but Wily always was shaded by Light.

Soon then, Wily turned his back on his mentor and went mad, trying to take over the world by re-programming the robots they created together. In order to counter that Light alone made an improved kind of robot that slightly reminds a young human with the ability of having multiple skills and adapt to new weaponry and tools so to say. From that point on, this robot always foiled Wily’s reoccurring plans of world domination. So many times he caught Wily yet Wily always managed to escape prison somehow, he’s a genius as well after all. Over time though, he seemed to have realized his madness won’t bring him anywhere and quiet down. His current location or plans are unknown. Despite all that Dr. Light still continues his research and is about to revolve robotics once more…
At the same time all-around the world others try to replicate or copy Lights work so far there is no one that can match either of those two Geniuses but a young student interested in Archeology but also font in robotics shows potential of the future…

In his laboratory Dr. Light is tinkering with something… “Hey, Mega Man, there you are. Would you please come over for a moment? I want to show you something.” “What is it Dr.,” he asks surprised. “I’m currently working on a new generation of robots.” Slowly and curios Mega Man approaches his creator. “See Mega, these kind shall be even more human with the ability to grow and develop like human and even heal wounds and injuries’ on their own, just like they had human bodies. Materials that can do that are used in it and I’ll do it so they can execute this progress themselves. I want them to be more like kind humans with soul and all, helping others and adapt as much as possible, just like humans.” “I see, that’s quiet the thing but what is, if Wily gets his hands on them. He would grow even more dangerous with that.” “I understand your concerns but the way I’ll set them up is so Wily can’t reprogram them like the other ones, they would resist it.” Mega Man looks up thinking “mmh” and Light doesn’t notice it, caught up in his work. “If this prototype succeeds I can make you, Roll, Proto Man and even Bass just like humans with all your abilities, I’ll just need to implant your cores in the new bodies then. I call this new generation of robots Reploids. The name of this one here is Sigma.” Looking closer Mega Man gives away some thoughts. ” Interesting, I’m looking forward to it. I really want to be more human.”

At the same time in a secret lab, hidden in an underground fortress Dr. Wily is also tinkering. “I was stupid to try take over the robots my hated nemesis Light built. I can do better myself. Bass was a good start though still defective. After all this years of fighting Mega Man I entirely analyzed him and I will build a robot that will annihilate him. Once Mega Man, my strongest opponent is out of the way the rest will be no match. Meanwhile I will also create a Virus that I can use to control Lights robots without being suspected to distract him. Also, I’ll scoop a bit in Lights computer archives so I may find the one or other assistance in my research. Pretending to be good allowed me to figure out part of his security and I could place an invisible spy… His research and his journals will surely help me out.”
“Ha haha ha!!!”
“Ha haha ha!!!”

Months pass and developing on both sides is progressing very well.

Dr. Light doesn’t suspect anything of Wily’s scheme and writes another of his journals reporting about his progress in terms of Sigma development.

But noise disrupts him, it is Rush running from cleaning again. He speeds through Dr. Light’s office bringing everything in chaos. A cute female voice calls for him “but Rush, if you don’t get cleaned you’ll get robot lice and sometime after you stop functioning and fall apart.” But Rush still runs, directly in the net Proto Man and Mega Man prepared. Gotcha Rush, time to bath. Rush howls miserably at Mega Man, he really hates to bath but he only falters then Proto Man warns his brother. “Don’t go easy on him it’s about his health.” After that Mega shows no more mercy. “Time to wash you reaaaal good my friend.” Mega, Proto bring him over here I prepared a fine bath for him.” Rush struggles but he can’t escape, no matter what.

While they have a good time Wily is laughing maniacally in his hideout. Hia, hia,hia, haha, Zero, truly you are my masterpiece. I still have some work to do with you and especially your programming will be a pain but I’m sure it will pay off in the end. You better prepare your will Mega Man because soon you will be scrapped and end as a sardine can. Maybe it’s about time to have a test run on Zero…
That said Wily starts him up and releases his half done body from the capsule to test some vital functions like visual sensors, motions and obedience. They all seem to work fine except the obedience, Zero, wake up and call me your master because I’m your creator. Then, without answering Zero goes berserk and tries to attack Wily but he has no feet and only moves his arms with no attacking effect. “Damn it, abort, abort…” Wily immediately shuts Zero down again. “He’s ferocious, that’s good but not if against me. I can’t do much about the complicated programming I made so far or his systems would not run yet they make him crazy attacking me but maybe if I use my Robot controlling Virus on him he listens to my command since it still leaves the main program running in a sub channel, which would still make him work while he does my bidding, else Robots wouldn’t be able to use their ability’s under my control. Before that thou I have to finish his main body and programming, else it would intervene. Well, since I set my eyes on all 24 of the latest robot models made by light to help people out, which at the same time are the only remaining robots Mega Man didn’t scrap after my re-programming since I haven’t done it till today it will keep him and his allies busy for a while, long enough for me to finish Zero and the crush them with him. I should initiate that soon. It will take a while until it’s going into effect since they have a high resilience against Viruses anyway…”
